Event Spotlight: IF Gathering
Each winter, women gather at Hillside over a weekend to view a livestream of the national IF:Gathering—a women’s conference based in Dallas Texas, featuring a variety of speakers and powerful times of worship, and viewed by thousands of women around the world, both in-person and online.
For the third time, this February 23 & 24, Hillside will host a local IF Gathering! We asked a few women to share about their experiences at previous IF Gatherings and why they would encourage other women to consider attending!
WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT IF GATHERING?
SUE B: I loved the extended time to be at church and just sing and listen to great teaching. Each speaker has unique things to say but it seems like I take away little nuggets of God’s wisdom, encouragement, and hope from each speaker. The music/worship is fantastic and so uplifting.
STEPHANIE D: I really like that it is an opportunity to connect with other women from Hillside. It’s a time to get to know each other on a deeper level without the distractions that typically come on a Sunday when we are all gathered together.
DANIELLE A: I’ve enjoyed previous IF Gatherings because there have been solid biblical teachers preaching on relevant life topics. It’s a good reset—an opportunity to take time away from all of life’s “to do’s” to be open and listen to the Holy Spirit’s prompting
GABI S: My favorite thing about IF is the chance to connect with women from all different life stages and backgrounds. Even though I’ve been going to Hillside for a little while now, I always meet women I haven’t met before and make new connections.
WHY WOULD YOU ENCOURAGE OTHER WOMEN TO ATTEND IF:2024?
HEATHER G: To deepen your relationship with God and other Hillside women and to take time out of our busy schedules to prioritize God and grow in Him. Events and retreats can be a catalyst for you when you are in need to time away to connect with the Lord. Also this year’s theme is all about celebrating Jesus! I know I need to take more time to celebrate Him for all He’s done!
GABI S: It can be tempting to isolate and not let others in to the ups and downs of life, but the truth is we need each other to help us learn to live into our identities as followers of Christ. IF is a great opportunity if you’re seeking to grow in community and be encouraged.
BEKI E: It is so easy to come, and you will be blessed by the teaching, the worship, the snacks and the fellowship!
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE(S) AT IF GATHERING?
SUE B: The worship/singing, speakers, and time to get to know other Hillside women has been so encouraging to me.
STEPHANIE D: Every year it feels like the topics discussed are just what I need to hear!
HEATHER G: I’ve always left encouraged and filled up to share Jesus with others after this event! I’d love to fill the room with Hillside women & their friends to praise our Savior and to celebrate how He is and will work in this season of our lives!
DANIELLE A: I have enjoyed the opportunity for a social connection with other Hillside women on Friday evening, as I only see people for a few moments in passing between Sunday services.
BEKI E: I’m so grateful for this event! It’s a great time to talk and pray together with women from my small group and meet new friends! The thoughtfully decorated main spaces make the time feel extra special.
Hillside’s Local IF:2024 Gathering will take place at Hillside on Friday, February 23 (6:00-9:30P, with a social time to follow) and Saturday, February 24 (8:30A-4:30P)!
