HILLSIDE GO! Dads & daughters: Come join us for the annual summer camp out at the Sumac Knoll Group Campsite in Bloomington! We will be heading over there on Friday night, July 15, at 5pm, to camp out under the stars. Come when you can, gates will close for the night at 10pm. Please bring all the necessary camping items that you and your daughter/s need. Dinner will not be provided Friday night – you’re on your own, Dad. However, we will provide supplies for s’mores for the campfire Friday night and pancakes for breakfast Saturday morning. Cost for this event is $15 per family.
SOFTBALL Bring your family out to the Dred Scott Playfields on Monday nights to cheer on our Hillside team! All games are double-headers. Next game: June 27, 8:15pm – field #9, 9:15pm – field #9.
BAPTISM If you have not been baptized, Sunday, Aug. 7 will be a great opportunity to take that next step of faith. First, we’ll worship together at Hillside at our usual time – 10:00am, however, it will be live outdoors and we will be on the lawn! (Don’t forget your lawn chair or blanket.) After the service we’ll head over to Bush Lake for baptisms. Everyone is invited! We will begin at 11:45am, at shelter #3 where we’ll hear faith stories from those being baptized – then we’ll walk down to the beach for the baptisms. Finally, we’ll go back to shelter #3 and the shaded grounds surrounding it to enjoy picnic lunches (bring your own). There is a playground and a volleyball area, as well as plenty of shaded grassy places to relax and fellowship. It will be a wonderful way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon, so save the date! If you’re interested in being baptized indicate your interest on a Connect Card.
