HILLSIDE NEWS

PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH Next Sunday, Nov. 6, we will pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are currently being persecuted for their bold declaration of faith in Jesus. Join us in the library from 8:30 – 8:55am, to pray for hope, healing, and freedom. In years past we’ve worn orange to honor them. If you want to wear orange on Nov. 6, you won’t be alone!

FIRST FRIDAY PRAYER CALL On the first Friday of each month from 6-6:30am, you are invited to join the prayer team on a prayer call. During the half-hour we will pray for our nation, revival and the ministries of Hillside. Join us this coming Friday, Nov. 4, by calling 605-468-8026 and entering access code 672952.

FIRST FRIDAY 24-HOUR PRAYER Our next Twin Cities Prays 24-hour prayer will be from 7:00am, Friday, Nov. 4, to 6:00am Saturday, Nov. 5. Find some friends to take an hour to pray for our city and nation. Prayer times are via Zoom or on your own. Great for a small group time! Sign up through the link on the Tues-day Hillside Weekly, or at hillsidemn.org/firstfridays. An hour seems too long? A helpful prayer guide is available on SignUp Genius. The hour will fly by!

CRAFTY WOMEN’S GATHERINGMary Sorenson and Deb Hogan invite you to a Crafty Women’s Gathering (18 years and older) for good old-fashioned crafting fun! Come and join us on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9:00am to noon in the cafeteria. Bring your favorite craft to work on, whether that be knitting, crocheting, card-making, painting, embroidery, etc. Cider and donut holes will be provided. Please RSVP Mary Sorensen at 612-861-4563 or Deb Hogan at 952-888-0923 to let us know if you are coming or if you have any questions.

BRIDAL SHOWER Hillside women: The Kurschner Small Group ladies invite you to a shower they are hosting for Hannah Brecheisen on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 10am, in the worship center lobby. Hannah and Ryan Liu will be married at the end of December and are registered at theknot.com. Hannah would love to start a collection of simple recipes. Please bring one of your favorites on a 4×6 card (don’t forget to put who the recipe is from). Blank cards will also be available at the shower for your use. Come and help us shower Hannah with blessings from her Hillside family!

HHA EVENT  Hillside High Adventure is a group of fathers and sons (age 5 yrs. & older), and mentors and boys who meet each month to build godly young men through outdoor adventure. All males age 5 and up are invited to HHA’s next event: the annual Nerf Gun Battle! (A tradition packed with tons of fun – don’t miss it!) The battle takes place Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9am – Noon. Park at Oak Grove Elementary school (playing will actually take place in the hockey rink area and woods on the other side of Humboldt). You’ll be given a map on the day of the event.
